My wife bought this glove for my son when he was 8 years old, and 56 lbs. It was the only right hand catching glove at the store in his size. I think it'll last 3 years size wise, 2 so far. It'll last a decade quality wise if it isn't left out in the rain or over oiled.

My son is not a serious ball player even for 8, so I probably wouldn't have bought this glove. I consider it overkill, but if you have a serious ball player (serious for 7 to 10 years old), this is a wonderful glove. The leather is soft but firm and pretty good quality. That's a plus and a minus. While it's not close to heart of the hide tough, it's still pretty firm for a kid, and unlike cheaper gloves, it doesn't come pre-creased with a developed pocket. Given that fact and that most 7 to 10 year olds aren't throwing 45mph, this glove will require a little parental help during the breaking in period.
