Bought this for my six year old. We upgraded him from a 9-inch to this 11-inch. The 9 was extremely small, he was using it since he was three. The pocket on that old one really isn't big enough for a ball. The pocket in this is very nice size and shape. It's a tad big for a six year old, but he's got fairly big hands for his size so he can handle it. Another reviewer commented on the sizing, so I measured it and it is an actual 11-inch. To measure, start at tip of index finger and run straight down finger and continue down middle of palm to the end of glove. Gloves have slightly different shapes (like bigger/smaller pockets, etc) which can end up making them look bigger or smaller than others listed at same size. For this reason, I wouldn't really recommend buying a glove online unless you've seen it in person first. My son loves baseball. The first glove he owned was not a Z-Flex and my feeling is that until he hits middle school or so, these are the only style of gloves I'll buy.

The moment it came out of the box he has been able to fully squeeze the glove shut. I don't know how many times my son would drop a ball because he was unable to squeeze his previous mitt on the ball. This mitt has improved his catching ability significantly. Squeezing on the ball when it hits the glove is critical and the Z-Flex gloves I've purchased have both been soft and pliable allowing both of my sons to squeeze the glove tight when the ball is in the mitt.

Love these!

Pros: soft, pliable
Cons: the only thing I can think of is that I'm not sure the mitt I bought is actually 11 inches. When next to my son's 10-inch mitt if looks identical in size. It is probably within specifications and I should have gotten a 12-inch.
