I bought this mitt for my 11 year old daughter, who has been working hard on her first base skills. It is a little bit big for her, but she is quickly growing into it.
With a standard infielder's glove, she would always complain that her hand hurt when the shortstop, who has a rocket arm, threw to first. This glove has nice padding in the pocket and allows the index finger to stay outside. It is a nice soft leather, which only requires minimal forming and breaking-in. I recommend it. She was able to use it as soon as it arrived. I have since oiled it, tied it, and the pocket is perfect now.
