Rawlings Player Preferred Series PP115BRC Baseball Glove (11.5-Inch)

My 10 year old son typically plays catcher about 4 innings every game (6 inning games 2 per week plus practice) but for the other 2 he is sometimes in the outfield and sometimes at 3rd. He was still using the glove from 8U, and it was getting small and wearing out. After much research on-line and at multiple sporting goods stores, we decided on the Rawlings PP115BRC. My son loves the classic, throw-back look. It's a great length for both infield and outfield, his fingers fit in well, but with some room to grow over the next few years. The glove was well broken in right out of the box. We walked outside and began throwing right away. I expected to have to rub in glove oil or something to soften it up a bit, but I it wasn't needed. It was ready to play right out of the Amazon box. It's a great glove. It also didn't hurt that it was PRIME eligible so the 2-day shipping was "free".

I purchased the 11.5" Rawlings Player Preferred Series PP115BRC youth mitt for my 9 year old son who is average sized. I was very pleased to find the glove was ready for play when it arrived. The leather appears to be excellent quality and soft enough to completely close the glove and immediately catch balls as well as he was catching with his old mitt. I expected to have to go through an extensive break-in period first. Instead, I can only see this glove getting even better and better and with what appears to be high quality construction, it should hold up for many seasons.

I find the 11.5" youth size a perfect fit for him today and I expect it to work for many years. It fits him even better at this age than the 11" Rawlings glove he was previously using. I recommend not purchasing Rawlings synthetic leather baseball mitts as they don't hold up for very long and don't break in as well.

My son, 12 years old, liked this glove since he first picked it up in a local Sports Authority store. When it was time for an new, larger glove, we looked on Amazon for it. The glove is already 80% broken in and ready to use. The only problem I ran into was that the fastback model doesn't seem to be available in the 11-1/2" model. Other than that, it's a great glove at a good price and I'd recommend it to anyone.
