Summary: Great Glove / Lightweight 2008-09-17
Comment: This glove is the best I had in a while. I had a Rawlings glove since I was seven years old and switched to an Easton glove about four years ago. I will never not buy a Rawlings glove ever again. This glove is lightweight and padded well. I absolutely recommend to anyone buying an infeilder's glove to check this one out.

Summary: Rawlings SL175 Sandlot Glove 2008-06-22
Comment: I don't like buying a glove without trying it on, but I decided to take a chance on this one based on the description and price ($46 during a sale). I wasn't disappointed. The glove is very well made and has a good shape to it. It has a leather palm inside and even the piping (trim) appears to be leather. The Sandlot Series is made from leather that's supposed to look aged, and it does. The aging stops there though. This glove is brand new and needs to be broken in. The thumb and pinky are fairly stiff. I've been "breaking" them and rolling the leather trying to soften them up. I've had it about 4 weeks now and it's starting to feel good. I also rubbed the glove with saddle soap which softened the texture of the leather.
The 11-3/4" size is a good all-around size - perfect for infield and could also be used for outfied. I like the web (looks more like an "H" than an "I") and though it's not a "Fastback", you can put your index finger out comfortably and still have good control. The only thing I'm not sure about is the fleece-like lining in the fingers. This tends to make your hand warm and I'm not sure how durable it will be.
My sons have been eyeing this glove and can't believe the price I paid. It's a great deal for the money. Made in the Philippines.
