Overall a good training device. I've used the baseball and now the softball version, and both have been good for my hitting practice.

My only complaint on the softball one is that after about 1000 hits or so, the ball is now slightly mis-shaped. Still quite usable though, and I plan to keep using it all season.

It is also useful to break in a new bat.

Since I have a basketball hoop, it was no problem attaching and using this. Set-up takes about 30 seconds each time I use it.

All in all a good product!

Most of the trees I've seen won't work with this thing, so figure out where you'll be attaching it before you get your hopes up. The only trees I have that are small enough to wrap the bands around are not sturdy enough to handle the strain. If you live in a forest of widely spaced, very thin trees, with no leaves from ground level to about 8 feet up, then you're good. Otherwise, find a clothesline, basketball goal or flag pole.

Once set up, it's a pretty good way to practice your swing. The bands sometimes slip or move around a little, but overall it works. Not having to retrieve balls is nice, and it's good to practice getting right back into your stance so it becomes instinctive. I outlined a batters box and plate under the pole so I have the whole visual reference for batting.

Hit-a-way softball trainer is extremely useful for beginners. Instead of developing your swing with the several guys in the field catching the balls and one pitcher, you can use this device alone to improve batting skills, mechanics and the ball-sense. It's very efficient.

I still don't know how durable it is. After 3 sessions for 1 hour exercising the ball looks alright.
